When meeting with an advisor to add or change sections of a course, students will receive a copy of the PREP Late Course Change Form to have signed by the course instructor and department (unless it is a 2nd 8 week course). Start Engineering Portfolio during first semester in PREPĬonsequences of not maintaining Good Standing in PREP may be placement on PREP Warning Status or removal from PREP and reassignment to Undeclared in DGS.

Make satisfactory progress in technical sequences each semester.Make progress on appropriate foundational coursework of Calculus (MATH 221, 231, & 241) General Chemistry I and Lab (CHEM 102 & 103) Physics Mechanics and Electricity and Magnetism (PHYS 211 & 212).Earn a grade of B- or above in all foundational coursework attempted for the desired engineering major as listed in the undergraduate catalog.Maintain a 3.00 specialized or technical GPA (all math, science, and Engineering courses.).To maintain Good Standing in PREP students must: Good Standing: Standing in PREP is reviewed each semester. Those who are ahead in the suggested sequence for the major (e.g., through AP or proficiency credit) are still expected to continue taking an appropriate engineering course load. General Chemistry I (Chem 102/103) and General Chemistry II (Chem 104/105 - if required for major)Ĭourse Sequencing: Students will work closely with PREP advisors to both determine the most appropriate schedule based on placement test information and potential AP/IB/Dual Enrollment credit and also ensure specific course requirements are being met for majors of interest.Physics Mechanics and Electricity & Magnetism (Phys 211 and 212).Calculus I, II, and III (Math 221, 231, and 241).While individual Engineering majors have specific requirements, students in PREP will also need to show progress in the following coursework: Core Technical Coursework: PREP students should progress as much as possible in the core technical courses in order to show their aptitude and readiness to transfer.
